When Virgil presented his stark white design back in 2018, Nike preferred to play it safe and release the red and black version first. As a result, the "Alaska" model remained trapped in Europe as a collector's item that almost no one else in the world could get their hands on. Eight years later, the Virgil Abloh Archive (V.A.A.) is unearthing this gem exactly as he conceived it.
Look closely, because the most significant change is in the smallest detail: if you look at the classic text on the medial side, you'll see that the Off-White lettering has been replaced by the phrase "V.A.A. for Nike". This isn't just a design change; it's a way to make it clear who is now looking after Virgil's true legacy.
